Tyrone Holmes is an ordained minister and has been preaching the Gopel for twenty-five years. He has been married for 19 years to his wife Candy Holmes. They have one son, Jurrell who is 27 years old. Tyrone is out to make disciples of men and women for Christ Jesus. He’s been a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ for twenty-five years. Tyrone was born and raised in Newark, NJ were he also received his early education. Early on in his high school years, Tyrone felt the pull of God in his life. At this time he joined Clinton Avenue Presbyterian Church in Newark, NJ under the leadership of Rev. James Johnson were he served on the Usher Board. Upon graduation from High School he joined the US Navy. After returning home from the Navy he joined Beulah Baptist Church in Newark, NJ under the leadership of his late father in the ministry Rev. J. C. Crawford. In 1983 after joining Beulah Baptist Church he acknowledge the call to enter the ministry. For two years he studied diligently and enrolled in Northern Baptist School of Religion. During these years he was the President of the Men’s Dept. member of the Male Chorus, Prayer Band Leader and an active participant in Sunday school.
Rev. Crawford recognized the call on Tyrone’s life and licensed him into the Gospel Ministry. For the next ten years Tyrone gained valuable experience by studying and sharing the Gospel. He ran a Prison Ministry for many years at the Essex County Jail Annex in West Caldwell, NJ. He became the assistant pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Englewood, NJ under the leadership of Rev. Michael J. Jordan. Under Rev. Jordan’s leadership Tyrone was given the opportunity to head the Christian Education Dept. were his anointed teaching was responsible for large weekly turnouts for Bible study. Due to the large popularity of the Bible study he established a Sunday School in which he was Superintendent. The regular attendance of the school exceeded 200 members every Sunday.
Tyrone served as the associate pastor at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Irvington, NJ, under the leadership of Rev. Rudy V. Carlton. Tyrone served as a lead teacher in the Sunday School adult class, in which he received many awards for his enthusiasm and dedication to the teaching of the Gospel. In November 1995 Pastor Rudy V. Carlton recognized the powerful teaching anointing on Tyrone’s life and ordained him into the Gospel Ministry. In the same year Tyrone moved to Durham, NC and joined Christian Faith Center in Creedmoor, NC were he was mentored under the leadership of the late Bishop Mack Timberlake, Jr. and his wife Brenda. It was under their leadership that Tyrone’s ministry changed and started to take shape for greater things in the Lord. He learned many new things and how to minister in a more effective way. Bishop Timberlake trained all his members as ministers and how to be a great leader. In July 1997 Bishop Timberlake ordained Tyrone under Christian Faith Center’s Minister’s Fellowship, Inc. in which he was the presiding Bishop of over 150 churches worldwide. Tyrone served under Bishop Timberlake for seven years. Before Bishop Timberlake’s untimely death, Tyrone was publicly anointed and released by Bishop to begin his ministry.
In 1998 Tyrone finished his college education and received a Bachelor of Religious Education from the International Seminary in Plymouth, Fla. Tyrone loves teaching the Word of God and making disciples for the building of God’s kingdom. Tyrone believes in being under godly leadership; Oral Roberts, Dr. John Maxwell, Dr. Mike Murdock, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Pastor Randy White, Dr. Gary Smalley and Dr. Barbara DeAngelis are presently mentoring him. He has partnered with these ministries to increase his knowledge in the Word of God. He believes that everyone needs to be accountable to someone in spiritual leadership.
