SO YOU CALL YOURSELF A MAN?

SOUL CARE

We recognize that men have been socialized to believe that they should deny, suppress or even be embarassed  to experience or display certain emotions.  As a result, they are uncomfortable expressing  feelings such as fear, shame, and guilt.  Instead they express these emotions as the more "manly" emotion known as anger.  Soul Care for Men provides a healthy, non-judgemental framework in which  'men help men' to understand the value of their emotions and learn appropriate ways of expressing emotions.

Why do we Need Soul Care for Men?

God made men with emotions too. We need Soul Care for Men  because men need healthy emotions to function well in relationships, communicate intimate feelings and to integrate sexuality with love.  We need Soul Care for Men  because men need healthy emotions to nurture children and to have an accurate sense of themselves.   We need Soul Care for Men because God is calling men to take up their place as head of their households, leaders in the church and society, honourable fathers, loving and respectable husbands, and to return to their position as watchmen on the wall; raising the standard against immorality in the land.

Soul Care is the extended arm of MSF, where men who have made a commitment to themselves to become a better man and to establish a covenant relationship with another man. This is another opportunity where men can stay in contact with one another when we are apart. To be a support outreach to brothers when they go through trials during the week and be there to encourage, mentor and share personal struggles and victories with their fellow brother.

                                           PURPOSE

Here at MSF, the purpose of the Men's Ministry is to help men to build healthy relationships. We seek to accomplish this objective through weekly meetings and accountability toward each other. These meeting are made up of regular guys just like you who are going in the same direction, have similar needs, and who desire to grow in their faith. As Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." This is what a group of committed and dedicated men can do for each other. A men's organization like this is a safe place for sharing your life, struggles and victories, with other men just like yourself. It's also a great place to discover how God's Word applies to life.

  as                      Why Men’s Groups?

Strength in Men's Groups is very important because, King Solomon said it best in Proverbs 27:17; "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." While most men have no trouble staying "busy" in this world, few men are truly "connected" with other men in Christian fellowship. Scripture encourages deep and lasting friendships in the body of Christ, both for men and women. At The Men of Semper Fidelis, there are many ways for men to have their "iron sharpened" through participation in Men's Small Groups.

You might be thinking, “I agree that I need to get connected, but how do I do it?” We’ve made it really easy! Join The Men of Semper Fidelis and become part of a brotherhood. You’ll never be the same again. And more importantly, you’ll be taking a simple first step that will put you on the road to becoming the real, godly man that God wants you to be. Welcome to the adventure!

                                                          Man Up

At MSF, men are encouraged to join in our discussion on issues that relate to men's needs and struggles. Each meeting focuses on a man's core identity and gives an overview of basic manhood issues. These group discussions will help men deal with various indentity issues by looking back at past wounds and other things that may have distorted their idea of biblical masculinity. Throughout our fellowship with one another, men will learn how to clearly define true manhood.

The Main Purpose of Soul Care is:

1. To Catch the Vision of the Founder

2. To develop a strong commitment from the visionary to carry out the God given vision.

3. To solicit other men to join forces to establish relationships and build a brotherhood.

4. To reach the unsaved with the Gospel and bring more men into the family.

5. To meet the needs of men individually and collectively.

6. To develop and nourish men personally and spiritually.

7. To promote unity among men.

8. To provide men with the means of fellowship.

9. To train and develop men to do the work of the ministry.

10. To establish God’s purpose through men to take there rightful place in their home and communities.
